TROPHIES PRESENTED

BASKETBALL ASSN. MEMBERS r A successful and enjoyable dance, for the purpose of presenting the cups and buttons won by the various teams in the Lower Waikato Basketball Association during the season, was held by members in the Parish Hall, Huntly, when there was a large attendance. Enjoyable music was provided by Mr J. Bogie’s orchestra, and an extra by Mr B. Stake was much appreciated. Mr T. Thomas Carried out the duties of master of ceremonies. The cups and buttons were presented to the winners by Miss Jones, of Te Hoe. the president of the association, who, in her remarks, thanked Mr F. Harris, sole selector, and the local members of the St. John Ambulance for services rendered t/»

the association. The winners of the A and B grade cups w T ere Huntly Comrades and Te Hoe, respectively, and the A and B grade knockout buttons were won by Huntly High School Old Girls A and B teams. During the evening opportunity was taken of presenting a silver smoker's stand to Mrs W. Rodger (formerly Miss Isa Douglas) for services rendered as secretary to the association for two years.
