MISSIONARY AUXILIARY

ST. PAUL’S METHODIST CHURCH The usual monthly meeting of St. Paul’s Missionary Auxiliary was held in the Church Parlour on Thursday, September 21. A variety of flowers, artistically arranged, created a bright and cheery atmosphere. Mrs Tinsley occupied the chair and opened the meeting with a hymn, reading and prayer, jand gave a helpful talk on “The Importance of Prayer.” Apologies were received and a new member was welcomed. Interesting letters were read, one from a Maori deaconess, and the other from Sister E. Commons, Solomon Islands, telling of progress made in work amongst the native races. Following the serving of afternoon tea and a period of prayer for missionaries and native workers, the president gave an interesting account of the heroic work of Mr W. Jackson, who commenced a school for the blind boys of Burma. The meeting closed with the benediction.
