REPRISALS AGAINST JEWS POLISH RESISTANCE CONTINUES (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrlg-ht) (Received Sept. 25, 11 a.m.) BERLIN, Sept. 24 A radio message admits that a German infantry detachment was forced to retreat with its wounded commander when reconnoitring in a Warsaw suburb. A communique reveals the continuance of Polish resistance round Tomaszow and Zomosc, between Lublin and Lwow. BRUSSELS,’ Sept. 24 The Gestapo are taking most cruel reprisals against Jews in Poland, according to the Bucharest correspondent of the Independance Beige, i Thousands of Jews have been arrested and hundreds executed in Lodz alone. i The Germans are especially irritated by the Jews’ heroism, to which General Smigly-Rydz paid tribute.
