BERLIN, Sept. 20 A radio announced that Warsaw’s commander, General Czuma, has been wounded. • DEFENCES NOT BROKEN GERMAN ATTACKS REPULSED PARKS BECOME CEMETERIES (United Press Assn.'—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 20 A communique issued by the Warsaw defence army commandant says that repeated German attacks from the east on the city and suburbs were repulsed with heavy losses. The invaders were ejected from their positions to the south of the city and the Poles successfully launched a counter-offensive, on the western outskirts. The Warsaw radio says the city’s defences have not been broken. Nazi airmen destroyed the Belvedere Palace and Parliament Building and damaged St. John’s Cathedral. The oivlllan casualties are large and the public parks have been turned Into cemeteries.
