POLAND’S THANKS
TO PEOPLE OF BRITAIN FIGHT A COMMON ENEMY BRUTAL BOMBING OF TOWNS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 20 The President of the City of Warsaw, M. Starzynski, officially replying to the British Broadcasting Commission's broadcast, said: “In the name of the whole Polish nation, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the assurance that we fight a common enemy together.
“The brutal bombings of Warsaw and other towns, the destruction of our historic treasures, and churches, hospitals and private dwellings, and the murder of thousands of women and children, are being carried out ruthlessly. I therefore feel entitled to make a new appeal to you.
“When will effective help from Britain and France come to relieve us from this terrible situation? We are waiting for it.”
