WEDDINGS

WILSON—BRENNAN VIENNESE LACE GOWN The marriage was solemnised in St. Paul's Catholic Church, Ngaruawahla, on the morning of Saturday, September 16, between Ida Mary, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. S. Brennan, of Ngaruawahia, and John Joseph eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. Wilson, Ngaruawahia. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Courtney, and Mrs G. Jew presided at the organ. The church was arranged with white and cyclamen shaded flowers. A guard of honour was formed by members of the Ngaruawahia Rowing. Club, of which the bridegroom is an active member. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a beautiful gown of ivory Viennese lace over satin. The bodice was fashioned with a cowl neckline, the sleeves being full at the shoulder line and hipering to a point over the wrist. The skirt fell slimfitting to the knees and Hared very fully into godets of frilled tulle, in the centre of which was a tiny sprig of orange blossom. The back fell to form a long train of frilled tulle. Her long tulle veil was fastened to the head with a double coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of white stock, hyacinths and maidenhair fern. Ttie Attendants Three bridesmaids attended the bride, Miss May Brennan, • sister of the bride, Miss Alice Farrell, and Miss Patricia Jew, cousin of the bridegroom. They wore similar frocks of taffeta In shades of cyclamen, fashioned with tight fitting bodices, tiny Peter Pan collars and puff sleeves. The skirts were fully flared. They wore green headdresses, of tulle and ribbon, and carried floral fans of hyacinths, stocks, and maidenhair fern. The best man was Mr Basil Wilson, and the groomsmen were Mr Ray Brennan and Mr Walter Cuthbert. The ushers were Mr T. Stubbing, Mr P. B-rennan *and Mr L. Wilson.

After the ceremony the reception was held in the Masonic Hall, which was arranged with spring, flowers and stocks in shades of ivory and cyclamen.

Mrs J. S. Brennan received her guests wearing a smart ensemble of navy sheer, with a matching hat and she carried a posy of daffodils, Iceland poppies and maidenhair fern.

The mother of the bridegroom, Mrs W. Wilson, wore an ensemble of navy faconne and a toning hat, and she carried a posy of polyanthus. When Mr and Mrs J. J. Wilson left by car for the honeymoon the bride travelled in a smart navy figured silk frock worn with a teal blue swing ooat and navy accessories.
