ODDFELLOWS’ LODGE The monthly meeting of the Kaipaki branch or the o<Jdrellows’ Lodge was held In the hall last night. There was a good attendance, including members from the Cambridge Lodge. Bro. Condor, P.G. or the Cambridge Lodge, conducted the meeting, with Bro. W. Cunningham, P.G. Kaipaki branch, as Right Supporter, and Bro. St. John, \'.(i. One new member was admitted. The honours or the order were extended to Provincial Past Grand Bro. White, who gave an interesting talk and explanation or the “Emblem.” The social hour was spent in dancing, music being provided by Sister liail and Bro. Fell tCambridge). ATHLETIC SPORTS CLUB (Special to Times) KAIPAKI, Wednesday. The annual general meeting or the Kaipaki Amateur Athletic Sports Club was held recently. Mr R. Boyd, the president, presided. In his report Mr Boyd said the year had been a most successful one. The club had held its initial sports meeting in April. In thanking all who had helped to organise and run this successful meeting, lie paid special tribute to Mr C. Speake, who had given invaluable assistance, to the women’s committee, in whose hands the canteen had been successfully run. and to the dance committee Tor their help jn running the dance .on the sports night. since the sports meeting much work i had been done at the ground, under the ) guidance of Mr tianlcy* sea. High hopes had been entertained or an even better meeting- in the corning- season, but owing- to the international situation it was hard to say what could be cLune. The matter or continuing- as a club presented some dimculty, but it was dually decided that a committee and olllcers be appointed to look after the club’s interests. until such time as another meeting- could be'held and more definite ar-rang-ements made. The following- were elected: Mr C. r- v eake, g-eneral manager; Mr R. Boyd, president; Messrs R. Speak** and A. M. fisher, joint secretaries; Mrs A. Goodwin, treasurer; Mr \V. Ganley, sen.,, convener of works.
