WEDDING

CONYERS—HIRST ■MAGNOLIA SATIN GOWN A charming wedding was celebrated in Knox Presbyterian Church, Morrinsville, on Saturday, September 9, when Mary Joyce McKeenan, second daughter of Mrs H. Hirst, Kiwitahi, was married to Mr Joseph George Conyers, of Wellington, eldest son of the late Mr H. Conyers, and Mrs J. O’Neil, New Brighton, Christchurch. The Rev. G. A. Naylor officiated and the organist was Mr C. McLeod. The church was beautifully arranged with bowls of spring bulbs and scarlet japonica. The bride, who entered the church with her stepfather, Mr 11. Hirst, wore a beautiful gown of magnolia satin, cut on slim-fitting lines, the skirt falling in soft folds to form a short train. Her tulle veil fell softly to form a second t-rain and she carried a sheaf of arum lilies. The bride was attended by Miss Lorna Wright, of Morrinsville, as bridesmaid, who wore a frock of Dubarry rose taffeta, relieved with mist blue. A picture hat of the same colours was worn, and she carried a bouquet of frecsias and maidenhair fern. Mr W. liose, of Waihou, carried out the duties of best man. The Reception After the ceremony a reception was held at Fenton’s Tearooms, where the guests were received by Mrs Hirst and Mrs Trembath, aunt of the bridegroom. Mrs Hirst wore a frock of navy blue matalasse, a navy hat, and a fur coat. A shoulder spray of ITeesias completed the ensemble. Mrs Trcmbath's frock was of navy georgette over which she wore a coat of black ring velvet. Mrs G. Watson, of Patamahoe, sister of the bride, wore a frock of midnight blue crepe, a grey lur coat and accessories to tone. When Mr and Mrs Conyers left on their honeymoon the bride wore a green woollen suit, with a toning hat, and a fur coat. They will live in Wellington. Among those present were:— Mr and Mrs V. Hirst (Te Aroha).
