HUNTLY FUNCTION

ANNUAL CATHOLIC BALL VERY LARGE ATTENDANCE The eighth annual Catholic ball, held in the Town Hall, Huntlv, recently, was a most successful function, and was attended by visitors from near and far. A happy atmosphere prevailed throughout the evening and great credit is due to those responsible for the success of the function. An attractive and unusual effect in the decorative scheme was achieved with numerous fringed festoons of gold and tangerine flags strikingly decorated with black streamers, which radiated from a centre-piece of papercovered wheels. The walls were prettily arranged with a long narrow paper trellis in gold and tangerine shades upon which large sprays of silver flowers and leaves made a pleasing contrast. The supper room was similarly decorated, and the tables were most attractively arranged with vases of spring flowers. Excellent music was provided by Art Larkins and his band, from Auckland, and an enjoyable extra was played by Mrs M. Scott. Mr P. Kelly, of Auckland, was an efficient master of ceremonies.
