PERFORMERS’ CLUB

DANCING THE “ BOOMPS-A-DAISY ” SKETCHES CLEVERLY PRODUCED Mr G. Kingston's studio was filled to capacity on Saturday night when a highly successful evening was held by members and friends of the Hamilton Performers’ Club. During the evening a demonstration was given by Miss Leonie Swarbrick and Mr G. Kingston, of “ Boomps-a-Daisy,” the popular new song and dance, which is the modern sequel to “Tipperary” of 1914. The number was later executed by those present amid much merriment. Dance music was supplied by Mr W. Whitehead, and the following programme was much appreciated:— Piano solos, Miss Jean Livingstone; sketch, Miss Tui Molesworth and Messrs. B. Boss and 11. l'arkcs; radio tap, Mr B. Ross; sketch, Misses Leonie (Swarbrick and Shirley Burton, and Messrs. J. CTiurlon and 11. Parkes; vocal harmony, the club choir. At the conclusion.of tlie programme the president, Mr G. Kingston, stated that although it was against the principle of the club especially to mention performances of the members, lie felt lie must congratulate Mr J. Churton on his excellent production of the two sketches. , Among those present were:—Mesdames Marie Butler, midnight blue figured malalossc; 11. D. Curling, black georgette; W. Whitehead, ice blue moire taffeta; A. Cope, fern green net redingotc, banded with satin. Georgette and Taffeta Misses Gwyneth Powell, powder blue georgette; Dorothy White, cigar brown floral skirt and ivory blouse; Iris Aiken, floral ninon; Margaret Wood, pastel green faille; Poppy McLachlan, black georgette and fur coatee; Joy Crozier, lime green and wine ombre taffeta; Jean Livingstone, daffodil gold faille; D. Liddy, black souple satin; Leonie Swarbrick, black windswept taffeta; Val Hall, cyclamen tulip lal'feta; Tui Molesworth, Mayflower lilac windswept taffeta; Shirley Burton, Saracen red ninon; J. Pickering, orange and brown floral marquisette; Eileen Carr, petunia moire taffeta; Irene Calvert, hyacinth blue Chantilly lace; Rose Carr, sunset pink faille with taffeta coatee.
