Mr Stanley Garland has been appointed deputy Consul-General for Greece, in Wellington.
The Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Public Works was a passenger on the limited express from Auckland to Wellington last night.
Mr S. S. Dean, chairman of the executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union, left Hamilton for Wellington last evening.
Mr C. 11. Butcher, of Auckland, has been appointed returning officer for the Auckland West electoral district.
Mr G. A. Barrell, M.P. for Hamilton, will return to Wellington by the limited express this evening.
Mr H. P. Toose, of the stud stock department of Wright Stephenson and Company, Limited, arrived at Hamilton today from Wellington.
The Rev. D. N. Mac Diarmid, director of Presbyterian missions, tiie Rev. J. M. McKenzie, assistant director, and the Rev. Angus McKenzie, of the Maori mission staff, are in Hamilton.
Squadron-Leader H. D. McGregor, a New Zealander, has been awarded the Distinguished Service Order for service in Palestine, says a message from London.
Mr C. E. Tidmarsh, formerly of the Waikato Times literary staff, was in Hamilton today on his way to Auckland, where he will spend a holiday before taking up an appointment in Palmerston North.
Messrs R. McCallum (Blenheim), H. R. Kemp (Hawera), H. Leay (Rawene), C. Whitley (Wellington), S. Adams (Wanganui), P. B. Phelan (New Plymouth), H. W. Sliding (Christchurch), V. W. Hubble and R. Dunn (Auckland) are at the Hamilton Hotel.
