ANNUAL FIXTURE IN HAMILTON ADJUTANT A. CHANDLER’S ADDRESS The annual rally of the Waikato Sunday Schools’ Union w r as held yesterday afternoon in fine weather, when a large number of schoolchildren, led by the Hamilton Salvation Army Band, marched from the chief post office to the Baptist Church in London Street. The church was filled to capacity and the service was conducted by the Rev. G. C. Reay. The principal speaker, Adjutant A. Chandler, of Auckland, made a special appeal to young people to allow their lives to he guided by Christ, stating that the secret of true character, goodness and service lay In this means. The speaker based his address on a brightly coloured pencil, stating that the outside covering meant nothing If the lead were not of good quality, and that the same applied to human beings.
