TRAIN COLLISION
PASSENGERB COMPLAIN LONG WAIT IN CARRIAGE (Special to Times) NEW PLYMOUTH, Saturday Bitter complaints were made by the passengers on the New PlymouthAuckland express which collided with a goods train on Saturday morning, at tiie arrangements made by the Railway Department to meet the emergency. It is stated that many sat in the carriages for six hours withomt any knowledge of how and when they were to continue their journey. Although work trains were run out from Taumarunui no refreshments for the women and children were available. Buses and taxis were despatched from Taumarunui to the end of the tunnel, but there was not sufficient accommodation for all the passengers, who had walked through the tunnel, and many returned to the train, which later was pulled back to Tuhua, where buses and taxis were provided to take the remainder of the passengers on to Tuamarunui.
