DRAWN GAME

COLTS JUST FAILS KAIPAKI SHOWS IMPROVEMENT There was little between Colts and Kaipaki on Saturday, but in some respects the home team was unlucky not to take the decis.m. Colts has held its own in the later part of the season and its djfeat of the strong Technical eleven indicated that it would have a good chance of annexing the Hooper Cup. However, in the final game of the season it seemed to lack the finish which had been noticeable with it on other occasions, and, although the team was in striking distance of Kaipaki, towards the end of the encounter shots at goal went well astray. The game ended with the teams even, 3-all. Perrett, who has played excellent hockey towards the end of this season w r as again in the limelight on Saturday producing two good goals to consolidate Colts’ position. The team made several bright attacking movements and if the present forward division can be kept intact until next season it should provide strong opposition for teams taking the field. In most forward movements on Saturday Perrett was always prominent. McKibbin secured the other point for Colts.

The Kaipaki forwards seemed to lack dash but the backs staved off several determined attacks. Scorers for Kaipaki were: Graham (2), and Bones (i).
