AUCKLAND DISTRICT WORKS DAIRYING AT WAIKBRIA (By Telegraph.—press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday Sums for various works in the Auckland district are included in the Supplementary Estimates, which were approved in the House of Representatives today. Under the heading of railway construction in the Public Works Fund there is an additional sum of £45,000 for the Taneatua-Opotiki railway. Also under the Public Works Fund there is a sum of £IOOO for dairy improvements and plant at the Waikeria Institution, £2BOO for police offices and residence at Takapuna and £I3OO for the Mount Roskill police station residence. In the section devoted to development of water-power £38,000 is provided, representing half of the additional cost of operating and half the capital charges in connection with the King's Wharf power station, Auckland. For the Post and Telegraph Department there is an amount of £20,000 for buildings and site at Newmarket and £450 for an office at Brown's Bay. An extra £9OOO is shown under the development of tourist resorts for a pipe-line and reservoir at Rotorua. In the Department of Agriculture vote £1330 is set aside for the horticultural station at Te Kauwhata for maintenance and supplies of grapes.
