UNDER THE REICH

In Germany today, women do not wear lipstick “because the Fuhrer does not like it." Similarly, in Vienna, now that it is under the government of the Reich, women dare not look smart. It is said that in Austria today there are no smartlydressed women. Poverty and a dictator’s obsessions forbid them to wear anything more extravagant than a peasant dirndl dress, an old shady hat, and sandals for their feet.
