DELIGHTFUL AFTERNOON

MRS C. CLARK ENTERTAINS Members of the Post and Telegraph Women’s Association were entertained on Thursday afternoon in the lounge of the Y.M.C.A. at a delightful informal party given by the patroness of the association, Mrs C. Clark, wife of the Chief Postmaster. The lounge had been charmingly arranged with bowls of blossom and spring flowers, which effectively dispelled all thoughts of the boisterous weather. An entertaining programme had been arranged lor her guests by Mrs Clark, who commenced the afternoon with an amusing Mock Court, the fines paid by the culprits for their “heinous crimes” forming the nucleus of a fund for the use of the association in its wartime relief activities. Vocal solos were charmingly rendered by Mrs T. A. Edwards, Mrs Fitzsvilliam, Mrs L. Wells, and Mrs C. Clark, the accompaniments being played by Mrs Edwards and Mrs Clark. Various amusing and original competitions were entered into with enthusiasm, the winners being Mrs C. Bramley and Mrs T. A. Edwards. During the afternoon a delicious afternoon tea was served.
