Remarkable Chinese Boy Soprano Master Herbert Young, the gifted boy soprano who is singing at Wellington with the North China troupe, is. though Chinese, not Chinese-born, He was born in Sydney, and has lived the greater part of his life there, though partly educated in Hong Kong. He speaks English perfectly, but though he can sometimes understand Ins compatriots he cannot speak much Chinese. He studied singing in Sydney. A Wellington paper described him as “the Chinese Bobby Breen.” What They Sang ! Mother: Well, William, did you do anything besides eat at the Sunday school picnic? William: Yes, mummie; we sang a hymn called “We Can Sing, Full Though We Be.” Mother: Why, William! Big Sister: The title of the hymn, mother, was: “Weak and Sinful Though We Be.”
