EAST COAST SHEEP MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report that at their weekly Morrinsville stock s-ale yesterday a good yarding of fat sheep met with keen competition, with values of fat wethers and hoggets on a par wth Frankton quotations. Fat ewes showed a slightly easing tendency, and an entry of store hoggets ex East Coast realised very satisfactory prices. Cattle: A full yarding of cattle, including a medium entry of fat and ldllable cows with an average penning of store and boner cows. Values for all classes remained on a par with late quotations. Dairy cattle: The entry included mostly heifers with a scarcity of good quality animals. The demand was keen with an improvement in values, a total clearance being effected. A small offering of dairy cows also sold readily. Pigs: A medium yarding of fat pigs, and a light entry of stores and weaners. The demand for baconers and porkers was not as keen as at previous sales with values accordingly slightly easier. Stores and weaners sold fully up to late rates. Breeding sows were in keen demand and realised satisfactory prices. TE AWAMUTU BALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd % report having held their tri-weekly Te Awamutu stock sale on Thursday, when a good yarding of fat sheep came forward, late rates being maintained throughout. Cattle: A medium yarding with bidding keen and prices fully up to any recent sales. Dairy cattle: A light yarding of dairy cows and heifers, the majority of the penning comprising 'medium and low conditioned animals. Competition was steady and values remained firm on late rates. Pigs: A small yarding of all classes, comprising mostly light baconers and porkers. Bidding in all sections was keen and a total clearance effected under the hammer. Quotations:— Sheep.—Fat wethers 25s 6d to 325, extra prime heavy hoggets to 31s, fat hoggets 19s to 265, store hoggets 15s to 17s 3d. WAIHOU YARDING The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report that at their fortnightly Waihou stock sale on Thursday a full yarding of cattle, the beef entry comprising mostly second quality cows which sold at firm late rates. Store and boner cows also realised late quotations. A good penning of yearling Jersey heifers sold
under spirited competition with satisfactory prices resulting. Dairy cattle: A medium yarding of heifers came forward to a large bench of buyers. Competition for good quality heifers was brisk, a good sale resulting. Pigs: A small entry of fats met keen bidding, values showing no alteration from those realised at other centres. Stores and weaners sold well, a total clearance resulting.
