HINTS ABOUT THE HOME Cushions. —Remnant pieces at the sales may do for recovering cushions. Knitting.—To prevent skeins getting tangled, slip ends of two wools being used, through a close-fitting bead. Slide the bead down as you proceed with tiie work. Tin Lids. —Remove tin lid from shoe polish, etc., by rolling to and fro on floor, gently pressing on it with foot Velvet Dresses.—Give a fresh look after brushing by smoothing down with an old piece of silk or a large silk handkerchief. This removes all minute particles of fluff. Bed Light.—Sometimes the switch
hanging bedlight bumps against the wall. Tie a small piece of velvet ribbon round the switch to prevent damage to wall. * Clothes Line.—Rub new clothes line with a little beeswax, slightly warmed. Strengthens line anil makes* it easier to clean. Whitewash.—Easy way to remove whitewash is to scrub with rag soaked in vinegar and water.
