Glen Connell negotiated five in i. 6 4-5, the best or the morning over the distance. In a similar task GJadynev was clear of Proud Fox in 1.8, Full Hand taking 1.8 2-5 and Te Poto 1.9 1-5. Marie’s Acre and Philcourt worked over a mile and a-quarter, running their last five furlongs in 1.12 3-5. Princess Val got to the end or five furlongs in 1.1 l and Silver Glow and Plueron took 1.12. Tellspm was about a dozen lengths ahead or Noisy Night at the end of four furlongs in 52 4-ss. Merry nicer reeled off thre>e furlongs in 40 4-ss, time upon which he could have improved and Grandora occupied 4u Kentucky and Payette were under restraint while running hair-a-mile in 575. Milanion and Brazillian took 1.11 3-5 for five Turlongs while Buccaneer and High Crown worked over a round, sprinting up the straight, Estro doing similar work. Gamos Over Blx Gamos, assisted by Te Kawiti over tlie last three, ran six’furlongs in 1.26 3-5, the final three taking 4 2 3-ss. Narnara covered his last three in 42 3-5 s and Jack Tar traversed the last three furlongs of a round in 4 3 3-ss. Birthday Boy was under restraint while running four Turlongs in 595. Palustre came home from the Tour furlong post in 55 4-5 s and Veritable was holding First Gold Money over a similar distance in 545. From a standing start Tutor was timed to run six Turlongs in 1.24 3-5. He handled the going in great style. Miss Valerie ran her last two Turlongs in 25s and Bronwen, assisted by Saccone over the last Tour, recorded 55 2-5 s Tor the latter distance. It was a good effort as she had to finish against a very strong head wind. At Ellerslie At Ellerslie the No. 1 grass, on -which the poles were lort. out and the going heavy Francis Drake ran six Turlongs in 1.21 3-5 and Orate half-a-mile in 50 4-ss, these being the best of the morning.
