OBITUARY

MR QEORQE BOSWELL (Special to Times) WHANG ARE I, Wednesday The death has occurred of Mr George Boswell, of Kawakawa, one of the earlier settlers of North Auckland, at the age of 90 years. Born in England, he *.vas married in 1877 and travelled to New Zealand in 1884 with his wife and three children. The voyage was made in the Ruapehu, on her maiden trip to the Dominion. Mr Boswell’s first employment in New Zealand was in laying the lines for the old horse trams, hut in 1887 he took up land at Maromaku and farmed there until he retired in 1914 to live at Kawakawa. Mrs Boswell died 12 years ago. Of a family of 11, eight are living.
