COMING-OF-AGE PARTY Despite curtailed petrol supplies, the capacity of Ward's Hall, Kawhia, was heavily taxed to accommodate | the guests who recently responded to the invitation of Mr and Mrs W. W. Davies to celebrate the twenty-first anniversary of the birthday of their daughter Alma. The hall had been charmingly decorated and imparted a spirit of welcome and festivity to the many guests. A feature of theevening was the cooperation of the representative citizens and district residents, which, apart from being appreciated by Mr and Mrs Davies, was indicative of the esteem in which they are held. Mrs W. W. Davies received the guests wearing a charming frock of mulberry crepe mignon, and Miss Alma Davies wore a gown of white angelskin lace.
