CONTROLLER APPOINTED WIDE POWERS CONFERRED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Wednesday Under the building emergency regulations gazetted today, Mr A. Tyndall has been appointed building controller. His post as oil fuel controller has been taken by Mr G. L. Laurenson, commissioner of transport. The function of building controller will be primarily to organise and promote the undertaking of consrtructional works according to importance in the public interest he has power to stop work in progress, regulate, restrict and control the use. sale, supply, distribution and disposal of building materials.
