GRAIN AND PRODUCE
THE AUCKLAND MAKKETB AUCKLAND, Wednesday 'Commenting on grain and produce markets during the past week the Auckland Grain, Seed and Produce Merchants' Association has issued the following official report. Prices named are f.o.r. or f.0.b., Auckland. Potatoes.—The current price for South Island reds and whites, delivered City or f.0.b., remains at £l9 15s a ton. A small shipment of Californian potatoes has been selling readily at approximately 21s per 1001 b. Onions.—Current prices are 20s & bag, and a heavy demand is anticipated. Maize.—Current ex store prices are 7s 3d to 7s 5d a bushel, while 10 sack lots, delivery direct ex supplies arriving, are 7s a bushel. Fowl Wheat.—There has been no alteration in values, prices ex store remaining at 7s 3d to 7s 4d a bushel, according to quantity. Barley.—There has been no alteration in barley prices, current ex store values remaining at 4s Gd to 4s 8d a bushel for unclipped, according to quantity, and clipped Gd a bushel higher. Minimum quantities at the cash with order prices will be delivered ex Government stores from September 14 to 24. Oats and Chaff.—A much greater demand has been experienced for chaff. No alteration has yet been made in Auckland, merchants’ prices remaining at £lO 2s 6d to £lO 10s a ton. Oats are also in much better demand, values remaining at 4s 2d to 4s Gd a bushel. Bran and Pollard.—Ample stocks of pollard are available, and additional supplies of both commodities are due, prices remaining as previously, £8 5s to £9 a ion for Australian bran, and £7 17s Gd to £8 1 <>s a ton l'or pollard.
