BRITISH TROOPS CO-OPERATION WITH FRANCE , PARIS, Sept. 12 British troops are now landing in considerable numbers. The Royal Air Force has been stationed “somewhere In France” for some time, with aircraft of the most modern types, and members have now settled down into their quarters. Base camps have been established near ports. Dumps are springing up and hospitals are being prepared, FRENCH SUCCESSES CLEARING OUT GERMANS PARIS, Sept. 12 An official night communique states: “Progress has been continued on the same front as yesterday with strong reaction from the enemy, especially the artillery.” The Laconic communique shows that the French are maintaining their local advances in the face of increasingly severe German counter-attacks. The operations have not yet developed into a major offensive. Under the cover of a barrage the French troops moved up from both sides of the Moselle River, clearing out the German advance posts. The French have widened their front in order to force Germany further to weaken her eastern front by reinforcing the Rhineland defences. MOOLTAN SHELLED ESCAPE FROM SUBMARINE LONDON, Sept. 12 Tho liner Mooltan was shelled by the submarine for an hour, but drew out of range and escaped. NOT TO TRADE ORDER TO SPANISH SHIPS SANS SEBASTIAN, Sept. 12 General Franco has forbidden Bpanish vessels to carry on trade of any kind with the bolligerents.
