SOCIAL EVENING
PRESENTATIONS MADE A social evening was held in the Paterangi Hall recently, the senior school children. providing a very enjoyable programme of folk dancing, games, choral speaking and partsongs. Recitations by Allen Macky, Bessie Silvester and W. Macky and an Irish jig in costume by M. Robertson were much enjoyed. During the evening Mr S. C. Macky presented the basketball team with the Orakau Shield and swimming* certificates to a number of children. Opportunity was taken to present Miss Mary Silvester, in view of her forthcoming marriage, with a silver tea pot and tray, on behalf of the district. The evening concluded with a dance.
