VALUES AT PHANKTON HEAVY ENTRY COMES FORWARD Despite a substantially increased entry, values were fully Arm for fat cattle at tbe Frenkton sale to-day. The top price of £l7 15s, realised In the ox beef section, was the highest reoord at the yards since last year. Competition was keen throughout and heavy steers made from £l4 2s 6d to £l6 ss. Cows and heifers were also in demand, and although the top realisations were not as high as those of last week tbe market showed little alteration. Fat sheep were also on offer In heavy numbers, and here, over the early sales, competition was not quite as keen as last week and values were often lower. The fat pig entry was the largest since last summer, but nevertheless competition was very keen and values changed in vendors’ favour. Quotations. —Extra heavy prime steers, £l6 5s to £l7 15s; heavy prime, £l4 2s 6d to £ls 12s 6d; medium. £l2 7s 6d to £l3 ss; light. £9 10s to £ll 6s; heavy choice cows and heifers, £ll 5s to £l3; heavy prime, £lO to £ll 12s 6d; prime, £» 16s to £9 7s Cd; lighter, £6 10s to £7 Ds; small and killable, £4 10s to £5 15s. Sheep.—Prime wether, 29s 9d to 33s 3d; fat ewes, 25s 3d to 265. Pigs.—Baconers, 6is to 84s; porkers, 46s to 655.
