OBITUARY
MR JAMEB WHORSKEY (Special to Times.) HUNTLY, Tuesday The death occurred suddenly at his residence at Rotowaro of Mr James Whorskey, a well-known resident of the district. Mr Whorskey, who was born at Huntly 36 years ago, was the eldest son of Mrs A. C. Shead and the late Mr John Whorskey, of Huntly. His father was killed in the Rolphs’ mine disaster 25 years ago. lie received his schooling at Huntly and on leaving school was employed in the fltting shop at the extended mine, which is not now being worked. Up to the time of his death he had been employed by Taupiri Coal Mines in the fitting shop at Rotowaro. Except for the last eight years when he bad resided at Rotowaro Mr Whorskey had lived in Huntly all his life. During his younger days he figured prominently in Rugby football in the district. About 13 years ago he married Miss Christina Greenhill, of Huntly. He is survived by his wife, two sons and one daughter. MR JOHN LUMBDEN (Special to Times) iHUNTLY, Monday Mr John Lumsden, of Ohinewai, died at his home, aged 55 years. With his wife he came to New Zealand from Aberdeenshire, Scotland, 27 years age and first settled at Rangiriri and Taupiri. He later took up land at Ohinewai. where he resided for 24 years. He took an interest in public affairs, being a member of the Domain Board. He leaves a widow, two sons and two daughters.
