WEDDING
WAUGH —SlflG A charming wedding took place at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Claudelands, on Saturday, September when Vera Margaret, only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Sing, of Taupiri, was married to Oswald, son of Mr and Mrs G. Waugh, of N'sa-ruawahia. The Rev. H. G. Gilbert performed the ceremony and Mr E. H. Apthorp presided at the organ. The ciiurcli was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a beautiful gown of magnolia embossed slipper satin, fashioned on slim-fitting lines. The bodice, which was softly gathered down the front, was designed with a heart-shaped neckline, the back being finished with small salin buttons from the neck to the waist. The gracefully flared skirt fell into a very long train, and the embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a halo of orange blossom. The bride carried a bouquet of freesias and hyacinths, arranged with maidenhair fern. The Bridesmaids In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Joyce Sing, of Rotorua, cousin of the bride, and Miss Joan Walker, of Taupiri, who botii wore charming frocks of Margaret Rose moussienne chiffon. The budioes were shirred soitlv across the shoulders and tiie skirts were gracefully flared from the waist. They wore violet velvet sashes and shoulder veils which were caught kvith violet sprays. Their bouquets were made of anemones, freesias and carnations. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Gordon Sing, brother of the bride, as best man, and Mr John Bailey as groomsman. The ushers at the church were Mr F. Galey and Mr G. Walker. During the service and afterwards at the breakfast, Mr M. Pennman, of lluntly, sang several songs. Alter the ceremony a reception was held in the Genitreway Tearooms, where the tables were artistically decorated with Iceland poppies and cherry blossom. Tile guests were received by Mrs Sing, who was wearing a smart Lido Blue ensemble witli a matching hat, and iox i'urs. She was carrying a posy of violets and cyclamen. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs Waugh, wore a navy costume and a toning hat. Her posy was composed of violets and daphne. The bride travelled in a navy pinstriped costume, a navy hat, and furs.
