NATIONAL CLUB
DANCE AND CARDS VERY SUCCESSFUL EVENING Members of the National Club and the Party spent a most enjoyable evening on Saturday night, when dancing and cards were held in the club rooms. The dancing capacity of the social hall was taxed to its utmost, and in the lounge, which had been charmingly arranged with bowls of blossom and spring flowers, all the tables were taken by the many card*" enthusiasts present. Dance music was supplied by an excellent orchestra, composed of club members, who gave their services to help augment the collection taken during the evening for the work of the Bed Cross. Details were given by the president, Mr Hallyburton Johnstone, of tiie proposed activities of the club to afford help during the war. The following items were thoroughly appreciated:—Diana Rhodes, tap and operatic dances; George Wheeler, vocal solos; Mr Woods, humorous songs. The hostesses for the evening were Mrs Hallyburton Johnstone, who was wearing a brown figured crepe Vendome frock, Mrs A. A. McLean, in a gown of black flowered crepe mignon, and Mrs A. W. Moore, wearing a black taffeta frock banded in lace. Many Members Attend Among those present were:— Mesdames R. D. Duxlieid, A. W. Schultz, R. Braitliwaite, R. W. Geddes, E. R. Roskruge, J. 0.
