COUNTY BY-ELECTION

OTOROHANGA VACANCY (Special to Times) OTOROHANGA, Saturday A by-election to fill a vacancy on the Otorohanga County Council resulted in the return of Mr J. L. Wallis, of Te Kawa, who received 75 votes. The other candidate, Mr B. Symes, of Puketotara, received 64 votes. The vacancy was caused by the resignation of Mr F. Potts, who had for many years represented the Te Rau-a-moa riding, and has retired to live in Hamilton. The voting by the 139 ratepayers who exercised their right was as follows :—• Wallis Symes
