HOCKEY ATTRACTION

SEVEN-A-SIDE CONTEST ► BIG HAMILTON FIXTURE Dull weather prevailed in Hamilton this morning for the commencement of the annual seven-a-side hockey tournament conducted bv the Waikato Hockey Association and the Waikato Ladies’ Hockey Association. Teams from all over the district took part and the fixture attracted a large gathering of spectators. Almost 50 teams assembled at the Claudelands Showgrounds, where the men’s tournament is being conducted. The four fields were in excellent order and the standard of play was particularly high, especially amongst the country elevens.

The women’s tournament, which was held at. Seddon and Roves Parks, also attracted a large number of representative teams and the hockey witnessed was of a high order.
