MUSICIANS MEET

CONFIDENCE IN EXECUTIVE (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Monday One of the langest meetings of professional musicians ever held in New Zealand concluded in Auckland yesterday with a vote of confidence in the executive of the New Zealand Musicians’ Union. The meeting was convened as the result of dissatisfaction by certain members of the Auckland branch with the executive’s efforts to obtain protection for Dominion artists against overseas musicians.

The branch, which includes subbranches in Whangarei, Hamilton Rotorua and Gisborne, was well represented.

Questions affecting professional musicians were discussed, and it was considered that Hie meeting wo/.ld create a greater cohesion among members. The gathering lasted three and a-h&lf hours.
