CHAIR OF MEDICINE DR. F. H. SMIRK APPOINTED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) DUNEDIN, Monday Dr F. 11. Smirk, at present a member of the staff of Egyptian University of Cairo, has been appointed to the Chair of Medicine at the Otago University in succession to Dr. Carmalt Jones, who will retire this year. Dr Smirk, who is 36 years of age, has the highest honours with 12 years’ teaching and 14 years’ clinical experience, as well as research on clinical subjects.
