PLEASANT AFTERNOON
PRESENTATION TO TEACHER A happy function took place at the '1 uranga-o-rnoana School recently, when Miss Chadwick, mistress of the school, entertained the members of the school committee and their ‘wives to afternoon tea in order lo bid farewell to Miss Butcher, of the school staff, who is to be married shortly: Items given by the children included folk dances and the singing of nursery .rhymes on the lawn. Mr S. R. Harding, chairman of the school committee, expressed the keen regret felt at losing -Miss Butcher, who had endeared herself to all, and wished her a happy and successful future. Little Nancy Scott then presented Miss Butcher with a handsome read-ing-lamp as a token of affection from : Miss Chadwick and the children of the school. -Miss Butcher suitably replied.
