CONTROL OF SIDESHOWS
MORE EFFECTIVE MEASURES (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Saturday Remits to enable agricultural and pastoral associations to control sideshows on their grounds were approved at the annual conference of associations in the Auckland district yesterday. The remits will be discussed at the annual meeting of the Royal Agricultural Society next month. The conference approved of a remit from the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association that all affiliated associations should be asked to recognise officially only the proprietor showmen who were members of the uutdoor Amusement Caterers’ Guild. Remits from the northern district council were that the by-law governing the issue of sideshow licenses should be withdrawn and replaced by a more suitable set, and that tiie Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Amendment Act. 1933, should be so amended to improve the issue of licenses. Both remits were approved.
