King’s Birthday Holiday Monday will be celebrated as the King's Birthday. Numerous sporting j fixtures have been arranged throughout the province for the public holiday. Lower Profit The accounts of the Robinson Ice Cream Company, Limited, for the year ended April 30, show a net profit of £3329, compared with £5480 in the previous year and £3559 in 1936-37. The directors recommended a dividend of 7 per cent per annum, as against 8 per cent in the previous year. Missing Recruits Report Some young men who enlisted in the territorials in Auckland as a result of the campaign by the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, and who did not answer official communications to attend for medical examination, have reported at post offices. Third Successive Frost For the third successive morning there was a frost in Hamilton to-day, when three degrees were recorded. • Last night was one of the coldest experienced in Hamilton this year, and in contrast to previous occasions when low temperatures have ruled there was practically an absence of fog. Unsuccessful burglary . Burglars were unsuccessful in an attempt to blow open the Kaukapakapa Post Office safe during Thursday night. Severed Foot Mystery Although exhaustive inquiries have been made by the police regarding the human foot found on a beach near Napier, no clue to the solution of the mystery has yet been found. It was stated by Detective-Sergeant H. Nuttall that the sock covering the foot was a cut-down woman’s stocking. As far as it is possible to judge the foot was that of a male although it is not improbable that a period in the water would swell a large woman's foot to fit a size eight or nine man’s boot.
