PADDY’S MARKET A very successful Paddy's market was held in the Raglan Town Hall supper room recently by the members of St. Peter’s Anglican Ladies’ Guild. The stalls were in charge of the following: Fancy goods. Mesdames Hall, Henwood; produce, Mesdames T. Cornes and C. S. Middlebrook; cakes and sweets, Mesdames Downs and Young; afternoon tea, Mrs Oxenbridge and helpers; competitions, Mr 'Hall. The winners of the competitions were Mrs T. Cornes, Mrs J. Wilson, Mrs E. Kirk, and Mr B. Young. PRE-WEDDING PARTY FOR MISS MARY DONN A large crowd gathered at the Dixieland Cabaret, Raglan, recently, when a gift evening was tendered to Miss Mary Donn, who is shortly to be married to Mr Harold Wilson, of Thames. The function was organised by Mrs Cowley and Karioi friends, who provided *and served a delicious supper. Dancing was enjoyed during the evening, music being provided by Messrs G. and J. F. Jackson and Mr Brian Banks. Before supper Mr J. B. Jackson, who acted as M.C., asked Miss Donn to open the gifts, after which her father, Mr J. Donn, replied thanking those present for their good wishes.
