“Submarine Patrol"
With a distinctive cast headed by Richard Greene, Nancy Kelly, Preston Foster, George Bancroft, Slim Summerville and many others who contribute excellent performances, “Submarine Patrol” presents a phase of the Great War that heretofore has been overlooked in other productions dealing with the same period. A vivid dramatization of the amazing exploits of those tiny wooden craft known as subchasers, the story differs from the usual War drama in that it concerns itself with the refreshing romance of a pair of youngsters even more than it does with the w’ar. “Submarine Patrol” does not deal too much witn the heavy side of the great conflict, either, for except for the one important battle In which the splinter fleet takes part, the picture is primarily concerned with an enthralling human drama through which is distributed an equal share of genuinely funny, down-to-earth comedy.
