Fresh ink can be removed by applying milk anti then washing. For grass-stains rub in molasses and wash.
For poultry stuffing that’s different, add two-thirds of a cup of coarsely ground peanuts to your usual recipe.
To remove iron-mould from clothes, mix lemon juice and salt and apply to the spots, then hold over the steam of u boiling kettle.
To prevent scratches on polished floors, it is a good plan to cut small discs, either of felt or baize, and to glue them on legs of chairs and other movable furniture that cause scratches on flooring.
Not all blood is red. Most of the insects, Nature’s largest class of animals. which comprises at least 10,000,000 species, have either greenish or yellowish blood, in some it is even colourless.
Dean Swift once proposed that a tax be levied on female beauty, and that every woman should be left to assess her own charms. Such a tax, he said, would be cneerfully paid, and would prove very productive. When painting or staining it is advisable to keep a bottle of turpentine within reach, so that if any splashes are made on walls or woodwork they can be instantly removed without difficulty.
