EVERY POSSIBLE ENDEAVOUR . . MISSING WOOLCOTT-FORBES POLICE HOPE FOR ARREST (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright (Received June 1, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 1 “ The police are making every possible endeavour to apprehent John Woolcott-Forbes,” said the Premier (Mr Stevens) when further questions were asked in the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales. Mr McGirr asked who was going to bear the cost of the police travelling through Europe to search for Wool-cott-Forbes. Mr Stevens said that since yesterday he had had inquiries made, and he had been assured by the police that they had no knowledge of the allegation that a Sydney bookmaker had taken a sum of money to WoolcottForbes in India. The police will be glad, if the newspapers had any information, if they pass it on. Reiterating that the police were making “ the fullest possible inquiries, with a view to securing the arrest of Woolcott-Forbes," Mr Stevens said: " Only last night I received a letter from the Agent-General in London (Mr Hay) confirming advice received earlier that Scotland Yard and the French police had placed full facilities at the disposal of Detective-Sergeant Nye in the prosecution of his inquiries.
