MONEY FROM STRONGROOM COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Wednesday On a charge of the theft of sums of money amounting in all to £77 4s 8d from Preston and Thompson, Limited, Raymond Julian Jorgensen, aged '2O, clerk, was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Bail was granted on condition of a daily report to the detectives. Accused’s explanation in a statement to the detectives was that on leaving the firm he retained the key to the premises. According to the evidence, the money was carefully checked into the strongroom and found to be missing on various dates when the strongroom was again opened.
