EIGHTEEN-FOOTER RACES
ADHERENCE TO RULES NEW ZEALAND ATTITUDE (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Thursday The only comment made by Mr G. M. Dennes, chairman of the interDominion Yacht Racing Committee, was that, he was gratified to note that the main objective of his committee had been achieved by the recommendation of Mr Empson in his report to the New South Wales Sailing League that inter-Dominion sailing * races should be continued. This was particularly pleasing in view of the fact that next year New Zealand would be celebrating its centenary. Mr Dennes added that if Mr Empson had been correctly reported in reference to the sportsmanship of New Zealand skippers then lie, Mr Dennes, must emphasise the fact that the New Zealand competitors were racing for the first time under new rules, which were agreed to by all concerned at a meeting before the contest. These rules were supplied in writing to all competitors and were treated very seriously by the New Zealanders.
