PASTURES DRYING UP

LITTLE FEED AVAILABLE PRODUCTION FALLING AWAY The present dry spell has lessened the chances of a favourable autumn for dairying In the Waikato. Production normally falls away at this period of tlie year, but a long, dry spell may accelerate the drop considerably. Pastures have dried up in some areas, but It other parts there is still adequate grazing available. In some areas tlie pasture still bears a green appearance, but it is not giving the feed that its appearance indicates. Dry conditions are prevailing in the Morrinsville district where dairy production is rapidly falling. The position is, however, much the same &» last year. At Te Awamutu conditions are normal and production for thl* time of the year is quite satisfactory.
