fined £1 for driving without a licens and another £1 for driving withou care and attention. James had asked Peterson stranger to him, for a lift to Pe'ton and in the car he took over the driving and became involved in a collision The magistrate, .Mr A. M. Gouldinj in hearing the charges at Petone, sai he was satisfied that Peterson was i charge of the car. He remarked tha it was unfortunate from Peterson' point of view, for had he reniaine driving he might never have had t face the charge, though he was uc in a condition to drive.
