Arkell, of Victoria, is at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr E. J. Phelan. No. 1 Licensing Authority, was in Hamilton to-day. Mr S. G. Holland, M.P. for Christchurch North, lias left Christchurch for Taranaki, and will later spend a fortnight at Tauranga. Mr R. I). Wilson, chief postmaster at Blenheim, on the completion of 40 years with the Post and Telegraph Department, retired yesterday. Mr J. Currie, manager of the Waverley branch of the Bank of New iouth Wales, has received notice of his transfer to the post of manager at Thames. Mr W. J, Broadfoot, M.P. for Waltomo and patron of the Otorohanga Agricultural and Pastoral Association, visited the annual show at the Island Reserve, Otorohanga, yesterday, Mr H. M. Rushworth, of the Bay of Islands. Auckland provincial president of the Farmers’ Union, is in Hamilton and will address a meeting at Te Awamutu this evening. Mr J. A. Bell, of Rangiora, accountant of the North Canterbury Power Board, has been appointed secretary of the Marlborough Power Board out of 66 applications. Mr M. 1L Aldridge, who for the past 10 years has been commercial representative in Auckland for the Post and Telegraph Department, has been appointed stores manager for the Auckland provincial district. After 43 years’ service with the Department of Justice, of which 26 had been spent, at Blenheim in the capacity of Registrar of the Supreme Court, Mr A. F. Brent retired yesterday on superannuation. Messrs C. N. Yickeridge, N. McMurIrie, H. P. Taylor (Wellington), H. L. Wallace Palmerston North), F. Weldon, T. Talbot (Feilding), C. Cummins, P. Bryant (Napier), D. McFarland (Auckland) and A. Fraser (Te Kuiti) are at the Midland Hotel. Messrs M. Garrard, H. Pettit (Wellington), M. Knox (Whakatane), J. J. Callaghan (Waihi), P. Carev, B. A Murphy, E. H. Bierre, (F. R. Bridgman, A. Ashton, H. Frew and H. D. Snow (Auckland) are at the Hamilton Hotel. Captain A. Johnson, after 32 years’ service with the Northern Steamship Company, both as mate and master, 20 years being on the Auckland-Wha-ngarei steamer service, made his last trip last night, when lie brought the Ilanginui from Whangarei to Auckland.
