HAPPY FUNCTION
RUKUHIA SCHOOL PICNIC J* bright and happy time was spent lucently. when the Rukuhia School held its annual picnic at the Hamilton Lake. Races and games organised by the men of the committee were much enjoyed by the children. Owing to the generous donations made by the residents of the district, books were distributed X° all the children attending the school, by Mr J. Perrow, chairman. On behalf of the pupils, he also \ presented Miss O'Connor, headteacher, v. with a small gift in appreciation of / her kindness to them. The ladies served a delicious lunch and afternoon tea and a scramble for sweets brought the happy day to a close. Those present were:—Mesdames Hepburn, McAuliffe, Sharp, Henderson, Carryer, Newland, Raynes, senr., Raynes, junr., Moss, Newell, Laurenon, Powell, Matuschka, Ingram, Gunn, Wills, Jess, Pyper, Goodyear, Stevens, Adams, Biggs, Misses O'Connor, Corn, Bowler.
