STUDY IN BRITAIN
TRAVELLING SCHOLARSHIPS NOMINATIONS CALLED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Nominations for the two new travelling scholarships recently awarded to New Zealand by British authorities have been called by the University of New Zealand from the constituent colleges. It is hoped to make the selection early in March. The British Council offered a postgraduate scholarship available to a suitable graduate over 21. who will be required to spend about one year in Britain and study at some specified university or other institution matters approved by the council as of social, economic or political importance. The emolument is £3OO. The British Council will announce the name of the student early in June. The second award is the Imperial Relations Trust travelling Htudentship, open to single persons between 25 and 35 who have preferably taken a university course or been closely associated with some branch of adult education. The amount of this scholarship is not specified, but it is to be sufficient to cover steamer fares and reasonable living expenses for a period of six months in Britain.
The purpose of this studentship is to give Hie opportunity of wider experience to some person who appears qualified to play an important part in the development of the work of some body such as a trade union council or council of adult education.
