FUTURE OF PALESTINE MISLEADING PRESS REPORT MR MacDONALD S APPEAL (United Press Ajsn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Feb. 28, i p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 27 In the House of Commons Mr Malcolm MacDonald, replying to Mr C. RAttlee, Leader of the Labour Party, said he was not in a position to make a statement regarding the Palestine conference. The British suggestions were still being discussed. Unfortunately, misleading press reports on the substance of the proposals had caused serious incidents in Palestine. He appealed to the press and the public to withhold Judgment. PROTEST BY JEWS WILL NOT YIELD TO FOROI INSISTENCE ON RIGHTS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrtiht) (Received Feb. 28, 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 27 Jewish protest meetings last night passed a resolution that Jewry will not yield to force or the stultification of the minority status. The Mayor of the Jewish centre in Telaviv telegraphed Mr Chamberlain that the Jews will not accept the denial of rights recognised throughout the world. Copyright) (Received Feb. 28, 11 a.m.) JERUSALEM, Feb. 27 One British soldier was killed and two wounded In an engagement with armed Arabs south of Jaffa. It la officially stated that there were 14 separate bomb, land mine and shooting incidents during the weekend, in which 32 Arabs were killed and 50 injured. Two Jews were injured.
